Quakertown Senior High School has a great sports program. The school year has just begun and there is already girls and boys soccer, football, girls volleyball, and so much more! Are these teams good? Are they feeling confident? Is there anything they want to improve that they struggled with last season? Do they have new strategies?
With incoming freshmen, this year will include some great games and sportsmanship. Some of these freshmen did an incredible job at Strayer and are helping their teams become more successful. Hopefully, these new freshmen rise and make our teams even stronger and better.
Starting with soccer, the boy’s soccer team is feeling very confident. When interviewing the boy’s soccer team manager, Steven Dao, he tells us that his team is not off to a good start, but they plan on working on their strategies and figuring out how to guarantee their wins. Dao has high hopes that they will win more games, as do many of their viewers. Trying different techniques could have a better outcome and help them win their upcoming games. It also gives more players the chance to concentrate better on what to do rather than how to do it.
Football season is off to a great start. The Junior Varsity football team is starting strong, these freshmen are certainly bringing one for the team. They have a lot of supporters. The scoreboard so far is 3-1, which is very impressive, they only lost one game against Southern Lehigh. The Quakertown Panthers were off to a rough start and lost their first 3 games against Southern Lehigh, Pennsbury, and North Penn, but they seemed to be redeeming themselves when they won the game against Bensalem 49-21. Go Panthers! Their last game against Souderton was a tight one. They were so close to losing, but magically they seemed to become stronger and put their all in winning a tight game 35-34. This year’s football season will be tougher, but as the sun starts to set earlier and the evenings get colder. Hopefully, both of our teams enjoy their games and play with all their might.
This year brings new chances and new opportunities for players to go above and beyond. This year’s sports kickoff has certainly been an exciting one. We have all made mistakes, and it’s obvious that all players big and small will continue to make more. But as long as they play from the heart and body they will succeed. Good luck to the rest of the sports this season!
