From Eden to the states, fans are slithering to Hozier’s newest leg of the Unreal Unearth Tour! On January 30th, 2025, Hozier announced a new leg of his tour on Instagram, confirming his adoring fans dreams. As Hozier’s music continues to go mainstream on TikTok and social media platforms alike, this is a tour people are not going to want to miss.
Who is Hozier?
Andrew Hozier-Byrne, aged 34, has been a powerhouse in the music industry. With strong influences of Irish folk and American soul music, he has brought together thousands of fans from across the world. Hozier began his music career when he was accepted in Ireland’s esteemed Trinity College; however, he dropped out to kickstart his music career. His first single, Take Me to Church, became a Youtube sensation in 2013, leading to astounding success since then. Now with three albums (Hozier, Wasteland, Baby!, and Unreal Unearth), his songs continue to go viral like they did over a decade ago.
Hozier’s musicality isn’t the only reason as to why he is so popular. Especially amongst the queer community, the Irish singer has also been a profound activist. His commitment to human rights and speaking out against hatred has aided in creating a safe community for so many different people – people of color, queer individuals, women… the amount of people his platform has reached is immense.
What is in store for this next leg?
Because of what he has done for the world, his fans always are excited to go see him perform live. Hozier has been touring the world since 2015, and he’s been on the Unreal Unearth tour for just under two years. He has been to most of the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, and more. This year so far, he has announced dates in the USA only, but fans are hoping he tours internationally once more.
In the past, he has had amazing concert openers, like Allison Russel and The Last Dinner Party. This year, Gigi Perez is the opening act, alongside the Irish band AMBLE. Hozier’s openers tend to be newer singers with natural talent, hoping to reach larger audiences with their music and artistry.
The Main Event; what is it like?
The experience he creates for concert-goers leaves people in a trance afterwards. Maura Drelling, a junior at QCHS, reflects on her time at the 2024 Camden, New Jersey concert.
“It was wonderful. He opened with De Selby Part One and I was immediately brought to tears.” Hozier’s concerts have made people emotionally overwhelmed, not only for Maura, but for so many other fans alike.
“It’s a good fanbase,” Maura remarks. “Everyone was so nice. People were wearing skirts and bows… at a variety of ages.”
His concerts aren’t that expensive – the cheapest tickets are only $45. Compared to other popular artists, it is a steal. Most of the time, fans will get lawn seats to watch shows. Sitting in the sun while watching Hozier only adds to the experience; frolicking in the grass, to picnic blankets, to the chilling wind all further the whimsy of the event. For the quality of the concerts and the performer, Hozier’s Unreal Unearth 2025 tour is something fans will always crawl back to.
