With AP tests kicking off the beginning of the end of the school year: here’s what to expect from the schedule for the next few weeks.
The week of the 12th-15th begins the keystone exam schedule with three-hour delays for non-testers. The first three days operate with periods four through seven; whereas, the 15th will start off with period four like the rest, then followed by 1-3. Friday the 16th will be a normal bell schedule for all Quakertown students.
The following week, the 19th through 23rd, will be a normal bell schedule for the non-seniors(grades 9-11) and the senior class will begin their senior finals. Monday, the 19th, will be the English final at 7:15 and 1st and 2nd period electives beginning at 8:45. The school is off on Tuesday due to voting. Wednesday will be the math final at 7:15 and the 3rd and 4th period elective finals at 8:45. Thursday is the social studies final at 7:15 and 5th and 6th period elective finals at 8:45, and finally Friday is the science final exam at 7:15 and 7th period electives/makeup exams at 8:45.
Monday, the 26th, the school is closed for Memorial Day. For non-seniors, the 27th is a normal bell schedule, but for seniors, it is cap and gown pickup day, followed by the senior strut, where the seniors will board buses to their elementary schools and walk around/take pictures where their schooling first began. After school, the senior parade will commence around the high school and town. The 28th-30th will follow a normal bell schedule for non-seniors, and since these coincide with the senior trip to Disney/Universal staff and students can expect little seniors present.
As the school year starts coming to a close in June, the final activities are more fun and meant to give students a chance to recall final memories before school lets out. June second holds the senior picnic, the third will be the commencement (graduation) practice from 8:30-11:30, and the fourth will be the seniors commencement, which begins at 7:30. However, the seniors who are being recognized are asked to report at 6:45 in the lower gym. In the case of bad/severe weather, the parade rain date will be May 28th, and the commencement rain date will be June 5th with a second rain date of June 6th.
The following day the seniors will be able to pick up their diplomas at the high school between 8:30-12:00, and summer commences.
