Club Spotlight

QCHS’ Art Club
Club+Spotlight

On the second to last Monday of each month, Mrs. Christine hosts the Art Club. Students gather in B128 where they do small art projects. Every month is a different art project for students to learn new artistic mediums. The club is open to all students but specifies its audience to those with artistic habits and interests. In the past few years, Mr. Moyer has been able to assist Mrs. Christine after school to support the students who attend.

Art has been an important part of Mrs. Christine’s life since she was young. She wishes to bring the joy she felt while creating art. She would like to see the Art Club grow over the years. Allowing students to understand and appreciate art is what the club is about. The club hopes to spread the joy of art across the whole community, and develop outstanding artists.

The club impacts QCHS as a welcoming and safe place for students to enjoy art and learn how to create it. Mrs. Christine has held open arms for students who walk in. All art forms are brilliant ways for students to express themselves, so having a club that focuses on such greatly benefits the community.

The Art Club wishes to bring awareness to the art community in QCHS. Mrs. Christine has planned a few community events and installations around the school. She also supports students to come out to the yearly Art Shows. Students should be able to enjoy the various forms and styles of art that all students have to show. Students who do not have the motivation to participate in an art elective or join the club should visit the Art Show or examine the art in the showcases to find which form of art they would like to try out. Students should also listen to the school news for when the next Art Club meeting is.
